Transforming Valley Vet Emergency Referral Center: A Construction Journey

The Valley Vet Emergency Referral Center (VVERC) project in Winchester, Virginia, was one based around transforming unused waiting room space into triage rooms, exam rooms, and additional treatment areas. This project was a commercial renovation, allowing an existing space for an existing tenant to have the upgrades needed to support business growth. See the space before below.

The Vision: The VVERC project aimed to expand its capacity and provide enhanced facilities for patients and staff. We knew that achieving this goal required a collaborative effort to minimize disruption to the ongoing operations of the center. In this, we were determined to make the construction process seamless and efficient, all while allowing the client’s business to continue as we worked.

Execution with Precision: The construction process involved converting unused waiting room space into functional triage and exam rooms. To ensure minimal disturbance, Landis Enterprises implemented several strategies:

  1. Dust Containment: Effective dust containment measures were put in place to minimize disruption and discomfort to the center's operations. (see below)

  2. Air Scrubbers: Advanced air scrubbers were used to maintain air quality during construction, creating a comfortable environment for both patients and staff. (see below)

  3. Noise Mitigation: Landis Enterprises' team was conscious of the noise generated during construction. They worked diligently to ensure that the construction process didn't feel like a traditional construction site.

A Fresh Perspective: As the project progressed, the Valley Vet Emergency Referral Center underwent a remarkable transformation. The construction team hung drywall, applied a fresh coat of paint, installed new doors and hardware, and put in place a sophisticated ceiling grid. The project also included the installation of durable epoxy floors, kennels, casework, and plumbing and electrical fixtures.

The Final Product: The VVERC project showcased Landis Enterprises' commitment to quality craftsmanship and dedication to creating spaces that exceed clients' expectations. The once-unused waiting room space had been transformed into a functional space that will serve both patients and staff effectively.
